|
|
A few months ago, when I had a wired network, all Command & Conquer games worked fine over network, but now with the wireless network, the players cannot see each other, although it is possible to host a network game.
They use IPX for network, and I have set the frame type in /etc/conf.d/ipx to 802.2, which is the default anyway. Is it possible to make it work over a wireless network? I am having trobule getting the wired network up without a DHCP server. _________________ Was it a box? |

The Tiberian Sun problem is known; you need a quite fast computer to run it properly, something like a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz+, and even then network play can be a bit sluggish.
As for Red Alert, how does it not install? _________________ Was it a box? |

As far as I know, only the DOS installer has sound (and you should use the Windows one). It should be named setup.exe. _________________ Was it a box? |

edit : i tried it before on 2 different computers, it wasnt working on both (no screen) but then suddendly after restart it worked on both machines. that was depending on the C&C tiberian sun , that i installed before.. strange... i played c&c over network... a lot of fun again, after all those years. i have to enable "Emulation" for the sound on both machines to get it working, both have nearly the same useflags and programms but on one i have to select OSS on winecfg and on the other i have to use ALSA .. strange again, but however, it is WORKING _________________ I do not have a Superman complex, for I am God not Superman
