|

Hi,
I want to have an simple console based environment for fetching my mail from various email-pop3-servers. I used this howto:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/guide-to-mutt.xml
This works great for one single machine. But what If I don't want to have all email to reside at the pop3-servers, just the important ones? With fetchmail I can only have all emails fetched and deleted on the server or I can keep them there. What I need is some synchronization: If I delete an email locally it should be deleted remotely. I guess fetchmail is to simple to do this.
What would you suggest?
regards,

Do these servers offer IMAP? That sounds like what you want. If they don't, can you just run your own IMAP server and get all your boxes to talk to that. _________________ The free market gave me gonorrhea. |

Thanks for responding.
Since I want it neat and small (thats one reason I prefer to use mutt) especially when using mail on my laptop I don't want to have a whole server running in the background.
Imap is not available at the servers I'm using.
