My ! doesn't work in Konsole when using the console font. I am using fontconfig-2.2.0-r1 (without it, the console font doesn't seem to work at all?!) and kde 3.1.1. Any ideas? It's pretty damn annoying! It doesn't display at all when I don't type it myself (not even blank space), when I do type it myself I only see a blank space. Other fonts don't have this problem... |

Try:
Code: | Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys" |
in the /etc/X11/XF86Config (in Section "InputDevice")
EDIT: Ooops...didnt read your post thru - Apparantly u dont have this problem in other fonts? Then the above might _not_ be your solution, sorry... _________________ regards,

Nope, that didn't work. I don't use dead keys anyway. Exclamation mark, for this font, also doesn't work in Kate/Kedit/... all KDE apps apparently. In a plain XTerm it works fine though. And, as fas as I know, it used to work in Konsole, too, a looong time ago (didn't use KDE for a while)... |

The console font (that's what it's called, it's an exact imitation of the standard console font (non-grapical mode)). It does have an exclamation mark, it works fine in a standard xterm. |
