mythtv - upgrade concerned about k6-3 FE

Dear Modest Hardware Junkies,

My current mythtv system consists of an athlon-xp 2500 with a pvr500 running mythtv-0.18.1-r3 for a FE/BE; and a k6-3 550 with an fx5200 serving as a bedroom FE. I'd like to upgrade to the latest myth, but I'm worried about 0.2? mythfrontend being too slow on the k6 FE. Right now (0.18.1) it can playback ok, but just barely - if during playback I call up a menu or info it stutters a bit.

I'd be interested in hearing about the performance of mythtv-0.2? FE on any 500MHz machines.

I tried this with a celeron 633 (or was it 667) and it didn't go very well, a lot of pauses in the video and stuttering. But it was on the original Intel i810 graphics chip. So I guess a lot depends on your graphics card also.
I would try, but you should turn of the graphic eyecandy like transparent menus etc

Also: backup your old database and if it doesn't work after upgrading you can always return to 0.18.1
