So my university has some IPTV channels, and I'd like to capitalize on them. One of them is a camera at some other university's docks, and I'd like to have that as my wallpaper (at least up to the point of the IT department yelling at me for excessive bandwidth use)
Anyone know how to have Totem or any other video players run underneath all other windows and act as if it's drawing my wallpaper/background? I might even settle for preventing Nautilus from drawing my background....
I'm using Gnome, BTW, and the videos use udp protocols. |

mplayer has the -rootwin option to do exactly what you want, and I'm pretty sure xine has an equivalent option, but I doubt totem does.
Doesn't seem to work if you're using a composite manager though.
Edit: As you're using gnome, you may have to stop nautilus from drawing to the root window (which means losing desktop icons, and possibly right-click menus too). _________________ "You have to invite me in" |
