|

Hi,
I am trying to install KonCd on a freshly installed Gentoo 1.4_rc3 system. I have emerged KDE and emerged -u world, and now I am trying to install Koncd. However:
Code: | Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] media-libs/libungif-4.1.0.1b
[ebuild U ] x11-libs/qt-2.3.2-r1 [3.1.0-r3]
[ebuild U ] kde-base/kdelibs-2.2.2a-r2 [3.1.1a]
[ebuild N ] app-cdr/koncd-1.0_rc1 |
So koncd wants to "up"date my qt and kdelibs to the 2.x branches. If I do go ahead with this, am i not going to break my kde install?
Thanks for any suggestions. |

It should install QT2 side-by-side with QT3. So you'll have both versions installed on your computer, they should co-exist nicely. |

koncd is very old.. as far as I know, it's been dead for a while.. unless you want to install kdelibs 2.2.2 and qt2.. I personally don't recommend it.
why not try k3b, arson, or cdbakeoven? All are excellent KDE3 based burning programs. |

dice: Thanks, it does work the way you said.
shm: KonCD was the first and only cd-r program I have ever used... It is a bit...kludgy so I will go and try out one of the ones you mentioned.
From doing emerge -p with all those programs, it seems that cdbakeoven is the program for me. All I want to be able to do is burn iso files and the other two want to install all sorts of mutlimedia stuff which is probably used for music/video cd's.
Thanks for you help guys. |
