If you don't know how to update your GCC-version you should clearly not be updating to a testing-release of GCC.
A working compiler is crucial to be able to emerge something.
If you break your compiler you will be in big trouble.
Please keep in mind that GCC 4.3 has not even been released by upstream.

ps) to get an impression of the experiences with GCC 4.3 you could look in this topic

you post a message clearly indicating you cant be bothered to find out for yourself and hope someone wants to give you personal tuition.

if that does not work, you could always try searching

it's much more complex than a one line command , that's why you're being told to search the forum.

And searching isn't even needed, kernelOfTruth already gave the correct link.
All that is needed is click that link and scroll down to the third/fourth post.
It contains a step-by-step guide.

ps) Don't expect help in case you break your system completely.
You intend to play with a version of GCC that hasn't reached alpha-status yet.

as a note you can just use march=nocona with 4.1 and have a system that is more likely to work.

You really should not upgrade to 4.3, that question that you made clearly indicates so.

Still, if you want, the necesary info was provided by kernelOfTruth, click that link and read. No one is going to install it for you.

I guarantee you 100% it will break at some point, and with your currently skillset you wont be able to fix it when it does, gcc4.3 is not done yet.
