VMware Server virtual machines-no traffic outside host?

Not sure if this is a VMWare Server problem or a routing problem on the host itself (looks more like routing on the host, but can't be positive), so I'm posting on both Gentoo and VMWare forums.......

I've got VMWare Server 1.0.1-29996 running on Gentoo 2006.1, kernel 2.6.18-hardened (GRSecurity enabled), on a Core2Duo 6300 cpu. Main IP works just fine. 2nd IP I put on the host to act as the gateway for a test virtual machine works just fine from the host OS, can ping -I from that ip (66.90.109.130) perfectly. However, my test RedHat9 virtual machine (main ip=66.90.109.131) can ping the host, but anything outside the host is unreachable. In traceroutes either way, the host does not show up in the traceroute... From what I can tell, everything is configured normally as it is supposed to be....

Any ideas how I can get the virtual machines properly online?
