|
|
Hello,
I read the page titled "HOWTO ALSA Complete (includes dmix)" on gentoo-wiki.com and I've got alsa running.
My problem is with flash 7 on konqueror. If I start konqueror like this:
then I can play other stuff when flash 7 on konqueror is playing sound. But if I start konqueror normally, I can't.
My question is, do I *have* to start it with aoss? If so, what is the use of this section in the ~/.asoundrc file? (I use /etc/asound.conf instead)
Code: | pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm "dmix"
} |
Thanks. |

The dmix setting in asoundrc has nothing to do with oss, which is what flash 7 is using. So yes, you have to use aoss.
But I have a better solution: install flash 9 beta. It uses alsa and overall works much better than flash 7. |
