[EDIT ] emerge -e world seems to have sorted most of it ( konqueror still wont run though)
it started with kde-env blocking kdelibs.
I sorted that
kdelibs wouldnt compile, so i removed all the kde3.4* packages.
now kde wont start
I do revdep-rebuild which has a whole load of emerges that need doing, but it cont go through them because kdelibs still fails at the same place Quote: | c -o libkabc_la.all_cpp.lo libkabc_la.all_cpp.cpp

Just to discard some things, can you post the output of emerge --info? |

If that is all your config, it seems sane to me. To get rid of the alsa and graphics thingie you can try to define VIDEO_CARDS and (I think, not sure) SOUND_CARDS in your make.conf. That way only the selected drivers will be built (and the others should dissapear from your use flags). For example, my video cards are:
Code: |
VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia vesa nv"
|
Don't know about sound cards cause I dont have alsa-drivers installed, I compile them right into the kernel.
I dont build the whole monolithic kde, just the programs I need. So I don't know if there is any flaw in the build process of any program. But this seems a bit strange, have you tried to search bugzilla for something similar? |

I am not familiar with the issue, but I found this in bugzilla:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113845
Many elements are common with your case: a g++ source, libkabc, undefined refs and so on. No clear solution was given. One of the devs suggests recompiling your whole world (emerge -e world).
Do you have updated your gcc or glibc recently to a major version (for example, from 3.4 to 4.1 or something similar)? |

If there had been a gcc update in the middle, I would try to emerge -e world and see if that sorts something out. Though I sincerelly have no idea if that will fix something for sure. |
