Hi all,

I just received a Lexmark X1270 all-in-one printer, and have set it up according to the Lexmark printer instructions in the gentoo-wiki, which seemed to work fine insomuch as the printer is listed in CUPS and in the KDE printer control panel, and it comes up when trying to print from an application. The problem is that when I try to print, KDE (for example) says that the job was sent to the printer successfully, but nothing happens. Please let me know what information you need. Thanks for the help!

P.S. To kill two birds w/ one stone, I also needed to know how to downgrade a package with emerge. Thanks!!

i have a stone for the second bird, although i'm not sure about how it's related to the first.

use package.mask to mask out the all versions of the package greater than the one you want.

package.mask
A list of package atoms to mask. Useful if specific ver-
sions of packages do not work well for you. For example,
you swear by the Nvidia drivers, but only versions ear-
lier than 1.0.4496. No problem!

Format:
- comments begin with #
- one DEPEND atom per line

Example:
# mask out versions 1.0.4496 of the nvidia
# drivers and later
>=media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.4496
>=media-video/nvidia-glx-1.0.4496

then re-emerge the package.
