i upgraded baselayout to 1.12.6 and now my network card wont start
Quote:

/etc/init.d/net.eth0: line 34 : /lib/rscripts/net.modules.d/helpers.d/functions: no such file or directory
* ifconfig is not a valid module (missing provides)

ive downgraded baselayout to 1.12.4-r7 fixes it ( the file ive got on my HD )

is it a bug that i need to tell someone ?

I'm gonna guess that you've got /etc/init.d/net.eth0 as a file rather than a symlink to net.lo :)

i have the baselayout installed which you consider stops network.
my network is ok and eth0 works fine.
a revdep-rebuild is suggested. may solve other problems if any.

after the upgrade, did you run etc-update or your config file updater of your choice?
