Hi all, long time reader first time poster!
Anyhow, I managed to get a Logitech USB camera up and running as per http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_logitech_quickcam_on_2.6.x_kernel, and viewing the camera output via mplayer would indicate that it's working 100% (or so). That is, the colors are good, the image is as clear as it's going to get, etc...
However, I need to be able to record this stream as well, and this is where the problem lies. If I use:
mencoder tv:// -tv driver=v4l:width=356:height=292:device=/dev/video0 -ovc lavc -nosound -ovc lavc -o camera.avi
the file camera.avi is created, but it ends up having a bunch of tight lines across it, and everything is pink--like looking at a PAL stream on an NTSC tv--pm me for a copy of the file if you need elaboration. I've tried fiddling with the fps option, that doesn't seem to do anything, and I cannot seem to find any reference to anyone else having this type of problem either here nor on google.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance! _________________ But... it IS pointless! |
