Hi,
I am quite new to the setup of the linux kernel, and got the problem of getting my wireless card (Truemobile 1150) working.

I had similar problems locating drivers and I still haven't gotten my wireless card to work (though I haven't realy sat down and tried to work through it yet)
I seem to remember something about lspci not recognizing PCMCIA devices, but that can be fixed. When you di get it recognized Wynn explained the great driver search quite well here when I was digging arround for my net drivers.
Good luck |

I am not sure, with the livecd I can make it work by modprobing orinoco_cs.
But I see orinoco also in de menuconfig options, which I have selected ofcourse.
or do I have to use modprob to load the orinoco_cs drivers,
or do I have to use ndiswrapper to load the windows drivers, what does seem to me a bit dirty. |

when I select the following in menuconfig:
Bus Options --> PCCARD (PCMCIA/Cardbus) support
Load 16-Bit PCMCIA support
Cardbus yenta-compatible bridge support (automatically enables 32-Bit support)
Device drivers-->Network device support --> wireless lan (non-hamradio)
Hermes PCMCIA card support (only available if 16 Bit PCMCIA support is enabled)
Hermes chipset support 802.11b (Orinoco/Prism2/Symbol)
device drivers --> PCMCIA network device support
the init will stop in runlevel 3:
INIT: Entering runlevel 3
* PCMCIA support detected
* Start PCMCIA ...
cardmgr[3753]: watching 3 sockets
cardmgr[3753]: socket 2: Intersil PRISM2 11 Mbps Wireless Adapter
and the init stops here.
What can I do to make the wireless-card working? |
