Hello.
I have googled and searched these forums, but I have not found an example of my problem, let alone a solution for it.
I have CUPS 1.2.26 installed (fresh install of CUPS on a brand new Gentoo install - I'm a noob)
I use a linksys PPSX print server (static IP of 192.168.1.199)
I have an HP LaserJet 6L connected to the print server
I configured CUPS to print to ipp://192.168.1.199/ipp/ and use the appropriate ppd file for my printer
Here is the problem:
CUPS prints just fine, but the print jobs stay in the queue after completion, and CUPS shows the message "Waiting for job to complete..." (forever....). Nothing else will print until I manually delete the print job via CUPS admin.
I believe this is a CUPS issue (and not the print server) as one of my other boxes (Windows - for work) is using IPP and clears the print job after completion.
If someone else has experienced this problem, what was your solution? |

I am in the same situation with a similiar setup.
cups stable and unstable as of today
Edimax 3 port print server
Canon iP3000
tried with ipp and http (probably the same)
queue is not purged, but when I delete the jobs manually from the kde printmanager or the cups web interface I get ipp or http processes that take 100%CPU.
So it really seems a cups issue.
EDIT: Downgraded to cups-1.1.23-r8 (also deleted /etc/cups/) and readded printer, now everything works fine again.
Bye, Val. |

Thank you for the feedback. I'll try that. _________________ Athlon XP 2.8 | 1GB DDR | Radeon 9700 Pro (bleh) |
