Creative Audigy 4 Pro and Breakout Box

I have been struggling to get my breakout box working for my Audigy 4 Pro. The soundcard works fine for listening to music, but I also have not idea whether or not it is configured correctly for I/O, MIDI, etc. Also, I tried to get LIRC working without any results. I've spent a great deal of time searching for how-to's, instructions, etc. but have only found scattered info that I couldn't piece togehter. If anyone can help me get this up and running I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, I am going to feel like a complete failure as I slink back to Windows. Thanks...
