After I did a reformat and clean re-installed Gentoo recently i get this output right before the login prompt.
Code: |
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-services.sh: line 821: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-services.sh: line 821: ` local -a services=( "$@" ) net_deps=()'
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-services.sh: line 821: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-services.sh: line 821: ` local -a services=( "$@" ) net_deps=()'
/sbin/rc: line 737: trace_dependencies: command not found
/sbin/rc: line 859: trace_dependencies: command not found
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-services.sh: line 821: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-services.sh: line 821: ` local -a services=( "$@" ) net_deps=()'
/sbin/rc: line 737: trace_dependencies: command not found
/sbin/rc: line 859: trace_dependencies: command not found

After that I get the normal login prompt. There are not any warnings or errors in dmesg. Also there are no other warnings at boot except one about udev which i plan to make a separate post about in a minute. The system is athlon-xp and if it helps any i can provide more info it you are interested. I dont know what other output to post.
Any input/advice is much appreciated.
Thanks

I just thought i might add a little more info:
When was searching the net i found:
http://lafox.net/support/index.php?s=fe7f4bb7d3c6983f2224545aa79b5620&showtopic=12729&pid=117161&st=0&#entry117161
It looks like they have a similar problem but i cant tell what language that is and google offers no translation for it. It looks like they tried to re emerge base-layout. Right now i am doing emerge -e system which is going some what fast because i dont have much installed. When that completes base-layout will also be re emerged so maybe that will fix it but i doubt it.
Here is a little more info on my system:
/etc/make.profile -> /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/2006.1/desktop
rc-status on my system also says that all services for default except clock are stopped.
Any ideas?

SOLVED!
Well "emerge -e system" seemed to have fixed it. I think though probably "emerge base-layout" would have fixed it to and taken less time. |
