I've recently downloaded webcore-fonts, unpacked them to /usr/share/fonts and run mkfontdir on it.
However X.Org stil gives me this message:
/var/lib/Xorg.0.log wrote: | Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/webcore-fonts, removing from list! |
On the other hand, Gnome seems to see these fonts, so I don't know if I should be worried or not. _________________ p3k4

Most of the time, applications use fontconfig to get font data, so the "FontPath" stuff isn't really necessary. Also, you didn't need to get the webcore fonts yourself. Just emerge media-fonts/corefonts, and it'll do all the mkfont* stuff for you. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

Strange, I have alway had it but I was missing Tahoma font so I installed webcore.
Is it really the same as corefonts? _________________ p3k4

Yeah, I guess Tahoma is missing. I never noticed that before. The rest of the fonts should be identical. I could swear I had Tahoma at some point, though. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |
