I have a minor problem I would like to resolve. I currently have two audio cards, one integrated (snd_hda_intel) and one SB Live!. The problem is, I need the SB Live! for my surround system, but the snd_hda_intel one is hooked to the front panel of my box, which means that the headphone-jack is easily accessible (I can't connect it to the SB Live! card).
Now, both cards work perfectly, and I'd like to be able to either use both at the same time (pipe the audio to both cards and physically mute one or the other when needed), or be able to switch between them seamlessly. Is this possible?
alsaconfig only allows for configuration of one card... |

If your apps support and you use JACK, you can easily do that in qjackctl tool via 'Connections'. No idea for plain ALSA though |
