i`d want to test/see kde 4.
is there an svn/cvs/git/something overlay?
is it the one as in
Code:
layman -a kde-unstable
or is it
Code:
layman -a kde-stable

what are those anyway.
oh and why does layman -L not show these overlays to me?

I suggest you search the forum. There is a kde4 thread somewhere (probably in Unsupported Software).

kde4 currently looks like a broken kde3.

I don't think there are ebuilds in any of the overlays yet simply because so much has changed.

Check out http://developernew.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/Unstable_Version if you really want to know more.

Take a look at this post:

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-3617481.html#3617481

This dude has made an overlay (download link is in post) with a short howto. The overlay contains svn-ebuilds.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY, BECAUSE YOU RUN THE RISK OF SCREWING UP YOUR EXISTING KDE3!!!

Have fun with it :D

Uh, that post is a bit outdated.
I've worked on a new version of the overlay during the last month and I'll make a new post/thread soon about it (today or tomorrow), with an updated documentation.
