As in the topic: why do I need oprofile or profiling support in general? I've been turning it off in my kernel every time but why is it enabled anyway? What does profiling do?
All I know it collects some info about calls in the cpu and stuff.... great.... what do I do with it? |

But this would be only when I'm developing applications or operating system parts right?
In other words: its not the tool for me as I would probably use java in a RL case which was not supported (I think I read that somewhere). |
