I find the default looks of evolution horrible. Is there a way adjust the look of Gnome application (like evolution) to fit more in KDE?If I am not mistaken Gnome apps are based on GTK2, does this mean I should search for GTK themes and will this improve the looks of all Gnome related apps on my desktop? Thanks in advance!

I guess that evolution is using icons that are not in the kde icons sets.
Then maybe try looking at the gnome-look.org, find a theme that fits the on You are using in kde, put it in ~/.themes and edit Your .gtkrc-2.0.

gtk-engine-qt broke your icons !?!
use qtcurve, this theme is highly configurable and works for qt and gtk.
