Trying to install evidence (as part of a revdep-rebuild) gives:

grep: /usr/lib64/libecore_dbus.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib64/libecore_dbus.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib64/libecore_dbus.la' is not a valid libtool archive

Now I know libecore_dbus.la is supposed to be installed as part of ecore. Installing ecore goes without any visible problems, but doesn't create the library.

Copied from emerge ecore:

Making all in ecore_dbus
make[4]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/ecore-9999/work/e17/libs/ecore/src/lib/ecore_dbus'
make[4]: Nothing to be done for `all'.

make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/ecore-9999/work/e17/libs/ecore/src/lib'
Making all in bin

and later on:

Making install in ecore_dbus
make[3]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/ecore-9999/work/e17/libs/ecore/src/lib/ecore_dbus'
make[4]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/ecore-9999/work/e17/libs/ecore/src/lib/ecore_dbus'

make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/ecore-9999/work/e17/libs/ecore/src/lib/ecore_dbus'

However:
>>> Merging x11-libs/ecore-9999 to /
--- /usr/
--- /usr/bin/
>>> /usr/bin/ecore_config
>>> /usr/bin/ecore-config
--- /usr/lib64/

>>> /usr/lib64/libecore_ipc.so.1 -> libecore_ipc.so.1.0.0
>>> /usr/lib64/libecore_desktop.la
>>> /usr/lib64/libecore_txt.so.1 -> libecore_txt.so.1.0.0
>>> /usr/lib64/libecore_file.so.1 -> libecore_file.so.1.0.0
>>> /usr/lib64/libecore.so.1.0.0
>>> /usr/lib64/libecore_txt.so.1.0.0
...

It's not installing the libecore_dbus.la and I have no idea why.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

First off all there is a thread dedicated to E17 in this forum. Try to use that thread for better responses.

Specific to your problem: try enabling dbus USE flag.

Thanks! I had no idea there was a dbus USE flag.

Now emerging ewl is giving me problems... I'll post again if I can't get it resolved.
