|
|
Today, Firefox 2.0.0.1 became stable for x86 so I installed it. It's own about page says it's Bon Echo.
I also have flash 7 installed and flash sound used to work just fine with firefox 1.5. Now it won't.
Any suggestions?

Ok, it's working now.
I followed the tips from : http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Firefox_Plugins#Flash
Strange thing is, the first step:
Code: | # ln -s /usr/lib/libesd.so.0 /usr/lib/libesd.so.1 |
responded with:
Quote: | ln: creating symbolic link `/usr/lib/libesd.so.1': File exists |
As i had done this during installation a week ago, if i recall correctly.
Next step:
Code: | # mkdir /tmp/.esd
# touch /tmp/.esd/socket
|
Ok fine. Then the 3rd step:
Code: | # /etc/init.d/esound start |
Response was:
Quote: | * WARNING: esound has already been started. |
At which point, i just restarted firefox and tested the flash sound, and it worked. I'm not sure how it got fixed, or what broke it, but oh well... it works! |
