snd_intel8x0: 6ch -> mic doesn't work 2ch -> mic works

Hi.

As I wrote in the title my mic is not working in 6 channel-mode enabled in kmix whereas it works when 2 channel mode is enabled in kmix.
Can someone help me to get my mic working in 6channel mode?

I'm not sure your board is like this, but I had an ASUS motherboard where in 6ch mode, the line in became center/bass and mic in became rear speaker out.

No it is not like this. The documentation says that mic in stays the same port for all channel configurations.

Does the windows driver allow you to switch the role of all your jacks? Newer cards do support this so as referenced this may really be your issue. Just because the documentation doesn't describe it for the card, remember that the documentation is written with windows support in mind first.

If the jack's purpose can be changed by the driver in windows, I'd almost guarantee that's your issue here.

And as for how to fix it, that I don't know because I have a thread in the kernel & hardware forum on the same issue about one of the newer cards (only it's an hda-intel instead of an intel8x0)
