|
|
Hello
I just did the install from stage 1 and everything went fine til i rebooted i am getting this error
kernel panic: vfs: unable to mount root fs on 08:03
Its a Dual Xeon 2.4 Ghz PowerEdge 2600 with a LSI scsi card. I am using the Fusion-MPT in the kernel and also tried modprobe mptbase and mptscsih. Its seeing the drive just fine. I am using ext3 on boot and root partitions. Any ideas what causes that error above. It happens during bootup.
Thanks

You need to make sure that the filesystem you are using is compiled into the kernel not simply as a module.
Also, if you have SCSI hard-drives SCSI support also needs to be compiled in in the same way.
