|
|
I have read a couple posts stating to try installing the flash 9 beta to possibly solve flash / firefox sound problems...these posts implied that it was in portage, but I have
Code: | net-www/netscape-flash ~x86
|
in my /etc/portage/package.keywords, I just synced my portage, and all I get from emerge av netscape-flash is
Code: | Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] net-www/netscape-flash-7.0.68 0 kB
|
Should I try the installer from adobe's website? Will it conflict with my existing 7.0.68 installation?
Ahh, I see now 9.0.21.78 is hard masked in package.mask. Has anyone had luck unmasking this?
My sound is out of sync with the video in flash, and if this will solve it then I don't want to spend several hours on teh intarwebs trying to track down a solution with flash 7.
Thanks! _________________ eden: HP, dual P4 3.0GHz,1GB,~160GB, ubuntu lucid

Has anyone had luck unmasking this? | Just add the name of the atom that you want to unmask to /etc/portage/package.unmask (you might need to create this). In this case add this line to that file: Code: | net-www/netscape-flash | If you want to add a specific version instead, Code: | =net-www/netscape-flash-9.0.21.55 |
All this and more can be found here.

Yep, I unmasked it and am now rocking with flash 9...sound is synchronized (yay!) where flash movies actually show up...some aren't showing up at all. Oh well, it's beta! _________________ eden: HP, dual P4 3.0GHz,1GB,~160GB, ubuntu lucid
