bonjoir à vous, honorables membres du forum Gentoo !!!! 
Bon voilà le topo,
Je viens de m'acheter un petit disque dur externe de 120G que je me suis empressé de scinder en deux partition, sdb1 (90Go) et sdb2 (30Go).
Je voudrais crypter la partoche sdb2.
Au début je pensais utiliser cryptoloop mais bon à ce qu'il parait c'est pas super, alors j'ai ensuite trouver un how-to sur le wiki Gentoo ou le gars utilise cryptsetup, mais j'ai un souçis lorsque j'essaie de faire cette commande:

Sinon concernant le how-to, il y a deux choses bizarres:
- Déja il n'y a plus le dm-crypt dans la partie LVM du kernel 2.6.19
- Ensuite, pour installer cryptsetup, j'ai dû désintaller cryptsetup-luks, c'est quoi la diffèrence entre les deux? Je n'ai pas trouvé grand chose.

Bon en lançant le cryptsetup en mode verbose, il semble que le souçis est dû à cause de dm_crypt qui n'est pas chargé  .
Mais je n'ai aucun dm_crypt dans mon kernel, je ne sais pas où il est !!

Je suis en vanilla, et j'utilise Dm_CRYPT !

Quid d'encfs ? Les fichiers cryptés sont backupables avec un bête rsync en plus, tu peux donc effectuer le backup en clair sur le réseau.

Je te propose en fait autre chose que dm-crypt (que je n'ai jamais utilisé et dont j'ignore totalement le fonctionnement). L'autre chose étant encfs, que j'ai adopté depuis longtemps

Ce n'est pas comparable :
- encfs, ça crypte au niveau fichier, en fait, on stocke des fichiers cryptés sur un fs en clair.
- dm-crypt est un vrai volume crypté, ou TOUTE la structure du fs choisi (ça peut être n'importe lequel, fat, ext, xfs...) est chiffrée avant écriture sur le matériel, au niveau du device-mapper (utilisé aussi par les volumes RAID logiciel et par LVM).
Le chiffrement n'intervient pas au même endroit.
A mon sens, la solution dm-crypt est plus propre et plus saine au niveau architecture, après, chacun voit midi a sa porte
