ok so i installed gentoo on my drive while it was in my p4, but then wanted to move it over to my *old* machine, basically just using hte p4 to speed up the install process
well, it booted up fine while in the p4, but when i put the drive over to my other machine, it wont boot.
it says "Grub Read Error" and then just hangs. what the hell. is something wrong with the hardware possibly on the older machine? if the MoBo's ide capacity is messed up, is the system pretty much useless? what do i do? |

Boot with a GRUB floppy or the Gentoo CD, then reinstall GRUB on the harddrive.
(hey, if you're lucky it might even work !) |
