Hi.. I have a linux based server with samba and some shared folders.

I could view and access share folders from my gentoo based laptop but in this days I can't access and view the share folders and I always receive a timeout error.

I'm used to access the shared folders with konqueror and I have never got any problem.

With other personal computers windows based I can access regularly.

This is strange.. What happened?

Does you samba logs actually log access attempts from your gentoo laptop?

No..

These are last lines of samba.hp:
Code:

[2006/12/22 13:44:26, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1141)
hp (192.168.0.8) closed connection to service share
[2006/12/22 13:44:26, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1141)
hp (192.168.0.8) closed connection to service share

Hp is my host name but the date (2006/12/22) is very old.. I have just tried..

I assume your hp's ip hasn't changed?

Also do you have any access restrictions setup? Can your gentoo laptop ssh into your samba server? (assuming ssh is open)

One last thing

does log.nmbd & log.smbd output any errors when you try to connect?
