anyone notice that gedit moves to a random position in the file after loading? i use gedit alot for coding and debuggin and expect the cursor would be at the top. but no i have to wait a few extra seconds for a file to load (large file) and then it jumps to somewhere in the file. wasnt sure if anyone noticed this. and i was thinking about filing a bug on it.

Are you sure it is a 'random' position?
I think that is moves to the position you were when last editing that file, and it's actually pretty handy. Don't know if you can turn it off though

it seems random. might be the position since last time i used it. some of the files i use are large and having to wait longer to load and then wonder where i left is really annoying. might i ask how it could be handy if its supposed to do that ?
might need to find another text editor
