Hi, ich hab mich vor kurzem für Gentoo entschieden, und find das Konzept ganz gut. Vor allem ist die Dokumentation absolut umwerfend.
Nun bin ich aber an meine Grenzen gestoßen und brauche Hilfe:
Ich hab hier einen SUN-Netra T1 mit ner Quad-Netzwerkkart. Die Karte wollte ich als Bridge konfigurieren.
Die Einstellungen im Kernel hab ich richtig durchgeführt. Die Bridge ist gestartet:
localhost ~ # lsmod | grep -i bridge
bridge 58152 0
llc 9640 1 bridge
wenn ich aber Bridge-utils ermegen will bekomme ich immer folgende Antwort:

Hab inzwischen auch rausbekommen, daß es kein Releases für Sparc64 gibt.
Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen? Gibt es eine Möglichkeit das Tool andes zu installieren?

Hi,
die bridge-utils gibt es auch für Sparc. Allerdings hat sie bei gentoo noch niemand(kein developer) getestet.
Du kannst portage sagen er soll die stabile x86 Version nehmen mit:
| Code: | | echo "net-misc/bridge-utils x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords |
(nach dem kompilieren ist es dann natürlich eine sparc version)
Wenn es dann funktioniert(was sehr wahrscheinlich ist, da debian es z.b. auch benutzt) solltest du einen bug bei bugs.gentoo.org aufmachen ala "please mark =net-misc/bridge-utils-1.*.* testing on sparc", damit dann Leute die nach dir das ding installieren wissen, dass es schonmal jemand (erfolgreich) benutzt hat.
ps: habs gerade auf meiner u2 mal probier, sauber durchkompiliert tut's(version: 1.0.6-r3)

Danke für die Antwort,
hab es nach deinen Hinweisen kompeliert und siehe da. Es gab keine Probleme mehr.
Ob die Bridge jetzt so funktioniert, wie ich es will, kann ich noch nicht sagen. Ich muß mir erst ne passende Testumgebung schaffen.
Ich werd es aber hier auf jeden Fall noch posten.
