I recently installed gentoo on an amd64 system without multilib support (I only thought about it once, althrough the instructions did tell me to consider this twice). Now, I though it'd be nice to install skype, but of course, this can only run as a 32-bit application (c'mon skype, it's 2007!).
I know I cannot simply switch profiles. Is there a way to get the 32-bit libraries I need without reinstalling gentoo from scratch, or another reasonable way to run skype? Tnx. _________________ "The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so sure of themselves while wiser people are so full of doubt."

Going by the ebuild, no, you're stuck. There's probably some error-ridden, horribly complicated, pain-in-the-ass way you could make the switch, but it'd probably be far more effort than it's worth. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

Ugy. I should have a new 300 GB HD today that I can back up all my data, and reinstall. Another 3 days down. Alas. _________________ "The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so sure of themselves while wiser people are so full of doubt."
