Well I done it. I wrote my first ebuild. But maybe I needed to pick something simpler. The ebuild seems pretty good. But when I tried to install it it tells me it tried to install a bad gconf schema.
Here's one of the errors:
Code: | "Unable to store a value at key '/schemas/apps/pyrenamer/window_posy', as the configuration server has no writable databases." |
And it ends with this statement:
Code: | --------------------------- ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY ---------------------------
LOG FILE = "/var/log/sandbox/sandbox-sys-apps_-_pyrenamer-0.1-12402.log"
open_wr: /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/.testing.writeability
unlink: /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/.testing.writeability
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
Yeah, I wanna get back to writing the ebuild but first I wanna be sure I didn't hose my gconf schema. Unfortunately the last thing I did last night was this, so upon rebooting this morning these files were no longer there. I'm not showing any problems really. _________________ • Helpful Linux Tidbits

No, the point of the access violation errors is that the ebuild tried to do something and wasn't allowed to. It's just telling you exactly what operations it attempted. It was then executed for the attempt. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |
