I installed the gentoo-sources kernel, but when I boot I get the error init not found, pass init= option to the kernel. What is the correct option I should use? Or is this a bug in the source? If so, then I need to install another kernel. Which one is best (most stable)? I use a trident 3dimage 975 video card, ESS solo-1 soundcard, Abit MX6B-EZ motherboard, and USB 1.1. I want to use my gentoo as a desktop environment with multimedia (mp3, divx, etc.)
This is a stage1 install, following the online manual. And lilo as bootloader _________________ Please visit www.passion4dance.nl |

My fault, my lilo.conf was wrong: set root= to where you mounted /mnt/gentoo. This should do it. And make sure you have the correct filesystems installed in the kernel. _________________ Please visit www.passion4dance.nl |
