|
|
Hi,
I have a virtual Gentoo server running in VMWare Server, and I'm trying to get shorewall to work with it.
When I try to start the firewall, I get the error: Code: | ERROR: Traffic Shaping requires mangle support in your kernel and iptables |
I double checked my kernel config to make sure packet mangling was enabled (it is), and even checked my kernel config against the config of another server I have running shorewall. Everything looks OK.
I have been installing and using shorewall for quite some time, and am well familiar with it. I don't see anything wrong, which is what leads me to suspect that this has something to do with VMware.
Any ideas?
Thanks! _________________ Vermont Free PC

I built all the iptables stuff into the kernel, instead of as modules, and now it works. WTF? _________________ Vermont Free PC

Had the same problem, until I remembered that I didn't do
Code: | make modules_install |
after running make on my kernel source. ![Embarassed ](images/smiles/icon_redface.gif) |
