after starting my firewall with '/etc/init.d/iptables start' i get the error-message:'/sbin/runscript.sh: line 30: /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/all/forwarding: No such file or directory'

this directory really isn't existing(the error-message comes from /etc/init.d/iptables) - as far as my linux knowledge reaches yet, this directory will be created when the required option in the kernel-config is activated, right? after some hours of restless searching i've come to the point where i don't seem to get further, can someone may give me a slap so i see the light?

p.s.:and i guess i can't simply turn of ip_forwarding since i need the iptables for my NAT...

Hey there.
I think you have to allow forwarding through sysctl. For that, you need to compile both forwarding support in the kernel and sysctl. That should solve it. The /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/all/forwarding should be created when sysctl & forwarding support are enabled in the kernel.
After that you can echo 1 to enable forwarding and your firewall should be set.

Networking Options > Network packet filtering > IP Tunneling

You ll also need to setup stuff in IP: Netfilter Configuration >

Read the help text to work out which options you need enabled .....
