|
|
i am following the direction on this wiki http://ps3wiki.qj.net/index.php/Gentoo_Howto and i am at the part of untarring the tar.bz2 i just downloaded. when i run Code: | tar -xjpf stage4-ppc64-ps3_32ul.tar.bz2 | it goes through a billion lines saying things like "cannot write to disk, no more space left". i know i have space because i set the partitions to 50GB for Linux and 10GB for the PS3.
any help? _________________ There are two types of people in this world, those who use Unix and those who don't. |

Moved from Gentoo on PPC to Gentoo on Alternative Architectures.
While Core might be based on PowerPC, they are distinct enough to be different architectures.

Maybe you accidentally skipped one or both of these steps?
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/gentoo/
cd /mnt/gentoo |

As the prior poster said, you need to make sure you formatted the disk partition and mounted it. If you did that and you still get those errors, you like likely are not unpacking the stage on the said disk partition. _________________ -->
