I'm thinking of installing qmail-smtpd-auth.

The problem is that it needs net-mail/cmd5checkpw and somehow my system has marked that package as Masked. How come? And also, is there a good smtp auth ebuild for qmail in gentoo package list already? I cannot find any...

do an: emerge /usr/portage/net-mail/cmd5checkpw/cmd5checkpw-0.22.ebuild , that should work even though it is masked.
