Look at this:
Code: | $ eix app-text/ding
[I] app-text/ding
Available versions: 1.4
Installed: 1.4(21:40:28 29.05.2006)
Homepage: http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~fri/ding/
Description: Tk based dictionary (German-English) (incl. dictionary itself)
|
And for the Online-Search with Leo and Mozilla-Firefox:
You could try the cushy Search-Pugin. |

I know about Leo, Ding and the like, but what I'm searching for is a pure dictionary, not a translating program. This means definitions also in German |

Oh I misunderstood. You don't want to translate somthing?
If you want to get a German explain of ONE German Word you could do it Online with this:
wissen.de-Online- Dictionary
(Like a "Duden")
But if you need something like this:
Code: | ...
Abarbeitung {f} :: execution
Abarbeiten {n} :: attention handling
Abarbeitungsfolge {f} :: operating sequence; sequence of operations
Abarbeitungsmechanismen {pl} :: working-off mechanisms
....
|
you maybe could use the "de-en.txt" File of ding?
If you've emerge ding you find this "dictionary" File here:
/usr/share/dict/de-en.txt
Maybe if you just need the German words you could parse it with a little handmade shell script.
I don't know about a free static dictionary in German like the Gnome-Dictionary :(
But i am Interesting in this too. |

This is correct. I want to be able to type something in like "Bedeutung" and see a result along the lines of
Code: | Be|deu|tung [f. 10]
1 Sinn; die B. dieses Wortes hat sich im Laufe der Zeit verändert; dieses Wort hat mehrere ~en; erklär mir die B. dieses Satzes!; wörtliche, übertragene B. eines Wortes
2 Wichtigkeit; ein Ereignis von großer B.; das ist ohne B., das hat keine B. das ist nicht wichtig
3 Ansehen, Geltung; ein Schriftsteller von großer B. |

What we need is a "dict.org" compatible server, with german definitions. _________________ Just you and me strogg! |
