I am having some trouble starting ntpd. When I try to start it as the default user ntp, it bombs out without leaving any messages. I tried it by hand with the following command, and saw no indication of why it didn't work:
/usr/sbin/ntpd -p /var/run/ntpd.pid -u ntp:ntp
When I ran it as root, it worked:
/usr/sbin/ntpd -p /var/run/ntpd.pid
Any ideas? |

The last two posts in "ntpd -U ntp" not working with kernel 2.6 should be helpful. _________________ The avatar is jorma, a "duck" from "Elephants Dream": the film and all the production materials have been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, see orange.blender.org for details. |
