I know that Windows allows you to enter extended ASCII characters by holding Alt and then entering a 4-digit code on the keypad. So, for example, a lowercase E with an acute accent is something like Alt+0233.

kcharselect shows me the codes for accented characters and the like, but it seems like the only method available for inserting them is to copy them directly from the table. Is there any way to enter them manually? Pasting from a table is really cumbersome.

Thanks.
