Hey everybody - I'd like to re-emerge the Battery Charge Monitor panel applet (it malfunctions when I have acpid started, and I have a feeling this might solve the problem), but I don't know where the package is in the /usr/portage directory. Does anybody know? Many thanks to whoever responds. _________________ Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop, 1.7 mHz Celeron M, 100 Gb hard disk, 512 Mb RAM, 2006.0, 2.6.16-r7 kernel

For which panel? There is xfce-extra/xfce4-battery for the Xfce panel applet, gnome-extra/battstat for the GNOME panel, and kde-base/klaptopdaemon for KDE's battery-monitoring. _________________ ~~ Peter: Programmer, Mathematician, STEM & Free Software Advocate, Enlightened Agent, Transhumanist, Fedora contributor

Sorry, I meant for the Gnome panel. I don't have gnome-extra/battstat installed, so this must be something else. It's simply called the Battery Charge Monitor (current version is 2.12.3). Do you think it might be included in gnome-base/gnome-panel? _________________ Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop, 1.7 mHz Celeron M, 100 Gb hard disk, 512 Mb RAM, 2006.0, 2.6.16-r7 kernel

Battery Charge Monitor is part of gnome-applets. It must be emerged with useflag "acpi". |

I just unmerged and re-merged it with the acpi use flag. No change in its behavior. Any other ideas? _________________ Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop, 1.7 mHz Celeron M, 100 Gb hard disk, 512 Mb RAM, 2006.0, 2.6.16-r7 kernel
