HI,
I hope someone can help. I have updated world recently, and my microcode_ctl is now broken. I get ...

I originally had microcode.dat from sept-2006. I have updated to the most recent with the same error.
The error is the same whether running from boot script or manually.
Versions:
microcode.dat: 1-11-2007
microcode_ctl: 1.15
Kernel: 2.6.18-ck1-r2 -- with microcode support compiled in.
Processor: processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 13
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.60GHz

this was a problem in the kernel. if you update to kernel 2.6.19.xx or later it will fix your problem.
