i have emerged the redhat bluecurve theme and i'm sick of that blue and i want to change it to black...
for kde-apps i can do it but for gtk/gtk2 i dont have a clue _________________ $emerge sux

If your system is like mine - your gtk themes reside in /usr/share/themes/. If my guess was correct, you should find the Bluecurve directory there. For easy editing (and preserving the original), make a copy of that dir to /home/your_login/.themes/ ... and now you're ready for editing the gtkrc-files which you will find in the Bluecurve dir (in the gtk, or gtk-2.0 subdir, depending on which version you want to alter).
The secret of which gtk-theme you're using lies hidden in /home/your_login/.gtkrc and .gtkrc-2.0
