I have a macbook with and Intel GM 945 graphics chip. glxinfo | grep fragment gives me:

However, when I enable the water effects in the beryl setting manager, I do not see them.

In the latest beta version of beryl, it seems this feature is supported on my card, though it is fairly slow.
