i bought a new harddrive so i am emptying my Windows XP on that hda. However, in my old hard drive (sda) I had windowsxp, linux (ext3), boot, and swap.
I understand how I can use fdisk to eliminate windows xp partition but how do I join that new empty partition with my Linux partition?
joining sda1 and sda3, that's what I want to do.
BTW, do you guys recommend using fdisk or some other app? |

i have never done that before but i did a quick search and found out that you can do this with gparted.....
i would look at the features at http://gparted.sourceforge.net to see if gparted can do what you want but it looks good to me...

if you used fdisk, you will remove both sda1 and sda3! Try the gnu parted live CD if you prefer terminal interface. |

fdisk is a primitive tool that does only partitioning and labeling. It doesn't recognise file systems. |
