2.6.20 and iptables, what changed

after moving to 2.6.20 something in the kernel/iptables has changed so that my old rule set does no longer work.

I quickly rolled back to 2.6.18 and all is fine again but i could not find a site/posting that explained what config changes i obviously should have made. I found the kernel has a whole new suite of options relating to netfilter etc, i guess i missed some.
