Hi All !

I hava a DELL Inspiron 6400 and I run a Gentoo on it. I have an acpid set up but it doesn't help in my problem. When I close and open the lid of the laptop the screen remains blank and I can't get it back as long as I reboot the whole system.

Any ideas are welcome!

what is acpid trying to do when you close the lid?

Try disabling whatever action acpid is set to perform.
Then you can try manually doing whatever acpid is
doing and see what is going on ...
