From what I can tell you can pick the glibc and gcc version you want, but how do you do this when you are installing it? I have on old application that need glibc 2.2 and gcc 2.95.3 to run. Any help would be appreciated. |

These versions are available in the portage tree, but as far as I know, you can't downgrade glibc on an existing Gentoo system without completely breaking it.
You would be a lot better off recompiling that old application so it works on an up-to-date system. |

What I wanted to do was install glibc 2.2 and gcc 2.95.3 during the installation process, but don't know how. Is there a way to tell it which glibc to install during the installation process? It's an old application which the maker doesn't support anymore and I don't have the source. |
